Venus and Mercury retrograde together
Mercury turned retrograde on Saturday 24 October 2026 and turns direct on Friday 13 November 2026, the day before Venus. So for 20.4 days both are moving backwards, and they never get closer than 12.2° to each other in that time. In five of the six charts Venus stays in one house from first station to last. A case: Maya’s own retrograde Venus
Maya was born with Venus retrograde herself, at 6°30′ Scorpio in the 12th house. This year’s station is only 2.0° beyond that point, so Venus crosses it three times: 22 Sept 2026, 13 Oct 2026 and 13 Dec 2026. Nothing here predicts what Maya will do. What does Venus retrograde mean, and does it do anything?
The sky part is simple, and it holds for every planet.
“Retrograde motion is an APPARENT change in the movement of the planet through the sky. It is not REAL in that the planet does not physically start moving backwards in its orbit.”
In astrology, Venus stands for what and whom we value, so a Venus retrograde is read as a time to look again at relationships, money and taste, and not to make a sharp turn. That is a tradition to reflect with. We know of no reliable evidence that it changes outcomes, and you can still make any decision you need to.
Common mistakes in the last eleven days
- Taking “direct” to mean “over”. Venus stays inside its shadow until Tuesday 15 December 2026, and it is 23°48′ Libra a week after the turn.
- Quoting a date without a zone. The 13th and the 14th are both correct, in different places.
- Skipping the birth time. Without it you can’t place Venus in a house at all.
